30 Day Gourmet's BIG Book of Freezer Cooking ReviewI've been freezer cooking for about ten years and am constantly looking for new recipes and inspiration. After a while, all the cookbooks look the same- until now. This cookbook has the greatest variety of recipes I've seen specifically for freezer cooking along with detailed instructions for freezing and serving. No casseroles and pot luck dinner meals! These recipes range from main dishes to desserts to soups to snacks. If that wasn't good enough, each recipe lists the amount of ingredients needed as the recipe is multiplied. The planning worksheet, tally sheet, shopping list and menu planner are provided. Preparation has never been easier. For beginners, this book also serves as a manual with a step by step instructions and pictures to guide through the process. But my favorite part of this cookbook is the nutritional information that each recipe provides. I strive to provide healthy, well balanced meals and this information assures that I can do just that.
Last Saturday I decided to give this new cookbook a try (with the help of my kids). We started planning at 7am and by 5pm we had filled our freezer with sixteen meals, six side dishes and six desserts. All this for $150. We have loved everything we've eaten far! Now I can step out of the kitchen, enjoy the spring weather and start planning our meals for next month!
