Sex Ring in a Small Town Review"Choose your dream lover and he or she is yours? How you ask? Meet free spirit John Pelham.
By accident and an overabundance of good intentions starts out to augment his chintzy early-retirement income with a clinic to help folks stop smoking and ends up the only male Madam we ever heard of that ran a co-ed "specialty house" by hypnotic suggestion.
"Pelman, using hypnotism to stop addicts' unhealthy smoking habits,
discovers that folks come the first time chaperoned, usually a husband and wife, etc. for fear a hypnotist might do something 'frightful' to them, especially if the wife is good looking. Later, one, almost always the wife, comes back and - ahem, gulp - has a tension problem. Can hypnotism help? It happens that Pelham, a former army pilot, learned the answer to that when he hypnotized some of his buddies way back in Basic Training.
"To make a short story longer, he ends up helping some of his clients stop smoking with tobacco and start smoking without it. Every one of them love it.
"Is this healthier? For them but it almost gets him killed - but rich, too!
"Funny, instructive, captivating! As another reviewer asks: 'Will we be seeing this spin off as a 'Soap' someday? Perhaps titled 'The Smoking Clinic?'"
"And hey girls, if your hunk is a sexual dolt and you kinda wanta hang onto him anyhow, read this and find out how to teach him that 'foreplay' isn't a numbers game where foreplay is a mystery quantity X that comes right between three-play and five-play. Just hand the big likeable ape a copy of this book! If he can't read, or is a slow reader and you can't wait, read it to him. It'll get better by the page.
"And as an interesting aside, 'Who is John Pelham?' The word is circulating that he's a well-known novelist, historian and biographer. Do they write this sort of thing?' We hear he did it as a blast on a bet with his wife's agent. Hey, there's a clue: a husband wife writing team."
